ABBOTSFORD – The Abbotsford Pilots are giving back to the community this Christmas, and are inviting you to participate in a cherished hockey tradition.

On Friday, December 7th, the Abbotsford Pilots will host their annual Teddy Bear Toss game at MSA Arena when they take on the visiting Aldergrove Kodiaks.

Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears and stuffed animals to the game. When the first Pilots goal is scored, fans can throw them onto the ice! They will be collected by players and members of the Salvation Army Centre of Hope and be distributed to local families and children in the Fraser Valley this Christmas season. The Salvation Army will also be present throughout the game collecting donations for their annual Red Kettle Campaign.

The Pilots (15-9-0-1) are currently tied for first place in the PJHL’s Brittain Conference and sit 3 points ahead of their opponents, the Kodiaks (14-14-0-0). The two teams last met on October 26th when the Kodiaks edged the Pilots 4-3.

Baylee Wright (69 points) and Jake de Waal (46 points) lead both the Pilots and the PJHL in scoring. The team is backstopped by Keaton Dyck (.912 SV%)

The Kodiaks are led by their captain and top scorer Davin Padgham (35 points), and forward Clayton Schroeder (20 points).

Tickets are available at the door. ($10/adult, $6/seniors 55+, $2/kids 12+under)

Puck drop is at 7:30pm at MSA Arena (2323 Emerson Street)
